THE STORY OF NEWPORT BAY CANDLE CO.
"I love candles, and that passion inspired me to start this venture in 1998. The candles I had purchased, even those labeled as highly scented or extra scented, soon lost their fragrance. Additionally, many burned down the middle, leaving wax around the sides of the container" - Jody
I began making candles in February 1998 in my kitchen. As my passion grew, I quickly outgrew my kitchen and moved candle-making operations into my garage. Through experience and some trial and error, I've developed candles that I know you will find a pleasure to burn.
In December 1998, I decided to open a store so customers could sample all the current fragrances and personally select candles of their own. In 2014 we opened our Gift Shop at its current location, on Newport's Beautiful Historic Bayfront. By 2020, after outgrowing all of our previous factory locations, we moved our Factory Store to it's current location, in the heart of Newport, 110 SW Coast Hwy, Newport. Come watch us making candles, Triple Scented Wax Melts, and CarScents and meet Jody, Grace, and Haley.
